RE101: Alarm Outputs

Thanks to modern processor technology, it’s now possible to set the alarm outputs in an application
oriented fashion, thus eliminating the need for additional, external hardware.

Configuration: relative or absolute
The alarm can thus be set relative to the setpoint (= relative), or to a fixed value (= absolute), i.e. independent of the setpoint.

Example for “relative” setting: The alarm is to be triggered at a temperature of 20° C above the setpoint.
Setpoint = 130° C >>> alarm is triggered as of 150° C
Setpoint = 270° C >>> alarm is triggered as of 290° C

Example for “absolute” setting: alarm at 180° C
Setpoint = 130° C >>> alarm is triggered as of 180° C
Setpoint = 270° C >>> alarm is triggered as of 180° C
